Security operatives have arrested four suspected bandits at Akure Airport in Ondo State following a coordinated security operation.
According to a statement by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, the suspects were spotted behind the airport perimeter near the Eleyewo community.
Security personnel from FAAN’s Aviation Security, the Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Police Force, alongside other local security outfits, launched a joint search operation after noticing suspicious movements in the area.
During the operation, some individuals attempted to flee, but four suspects were apprehended by the joint security team. They have since been handed over to the police area command for further interrogation.
FAAN commended the collaboration between aviation security personnel, the military, police, and local security groups, including Amotekun Corps and community vigilantes, whose joint efforts led to the successful arrest.
