Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of failing to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.
Amaechi made the remarks on Tuesday through his media office while condemning the Monday night bombing in Maiduguri, Borno State, which claimed multiple lives.
Describing the current government as “abysmally incompetent,” the former Rivers State governor said it lacked the leadership required to safeguard citizens from insecurity and violence.
He sympathised with the families of the victims but stressed that Nigerians cannot continue to mourn while the government lives extravagantly without addressing the security crisis.
“Tinubu has failed Nigerians. This government is killing Nigerians. The Monday bombings in Maiduguri are not just tragic; they reflect a leadership that has become complacent, incompetent, and indifferent to the suffering and deaths caused by banditry and terrorism,” Amaechi said.
He urged the government to take urgent and decisive action to curb the rising insecurity across the country, warning that failure to do so would further endanger the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
