Nigerian singer Spyro has opened up about his long and challenging journey to fame, revealing that he spent over 16 years in the music industry before achieving success.
In a recent post on Instagram, the 35-year-old artiste said he would have doubted his current level of success if someone had predicted it just three years ago.
The ‘Who Is Your Guy’ hitmaker recounted enduring difficult moments throughout his career, noting that his breakthrough came at a time when he was at his lowest.
Encouraging fans and aspiring talents not to give up, Spyro attributed his turnaround to faith, stating that the same power that changed his life can do the same for others.
“If someone had told me three years ago that I would become this successful, I would have argued it. Now, looking at my life, all I can say is don’t give up. I hustled for 16 years, and it was at my lowest point that everything changed,” he wrote.
Born Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, Spyro rose to prominence following the release of his hit single Who Is Your Guy in November 2022.
He has since released other tracks including No Gree For Anybody, Billing, For You, and Funke.
He has also collaborated with top Nigerian artistes such as Tiwa Savage and Simi.
In September, the singer announced his engagement to his partner, Janet Atom, whom he reportedly met earlier in 2025.
