The Nigerian Army has opened applications for its 91st Regular Recruits Intake (91RRI) for both tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women, offering eligible Nigerians an opportunity to enlist into the force.
Online registration is scheduled to begin on March 30, 2026, and will run until May 17, 2026, with applicants expected to complete the process within the stipulated period.
Interested candidates are required to visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng/ and select the 91RRI application option on the homepage. Applicants are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions before proceeding to create an account using a valid email address.
After registration, candidates are to fill out the online application form with accurate personal details, including educational qualifications, National Identification Number, Bank Verification Number, and state of origin. Trades applicants are also expected to provide relevant professional certifications.
Applicants must ensure that all information supplied is correct before submitting, after which they are to download and print their acknowledgement slip and photo card. Failure to complete the online submission after printing the slip may lead to disqualification.
To qualify, applicants must be single Nigerian citizens by birth, medically and physically fit, and free from any criminal conviction. They must possess a minimum of four credits, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in recognised examinations such as WASSCE, NECO, or NABTEB.
Non-trades applicants must be between 18 and 22 years, while tradesmen and women must not be older than 26 years as of June 30, 2026. Candidates are also required to meet the minimum height requirement of 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females, and must present valid birth and state of origin certificates.
Successful applicants will be invited for screening exercises in their respective states of origin, where they will undergo physical fitness tests, medical checks, and document verification. Candidates are expected to present required documents, including their photo card, guarantor’s form, and parental consent.
The Army noted that there will be no computer-based pre-selection test, warning candidates against bringing electronic devices to screening centres. It also cautioned against tattoos, body inscriptions, and multiple piercings, stating that offenders would be disqualified.
Applicants are further warned not to engage in any form of bribery, as the recruitment process is free and transparent. Those found with falsified documents will be disqualified and handed over to the police for prosecution.
Names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the Nigerian Army recruitment portal, with screening expected to take place between June 9 and June 23, 2026.
