Nollywood veteran Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde created a stir online after appearing to brush off a young presenter during the 46th Miss Nigeria Patrons & Board Dinner on Sunday.
The event, which also honoured the Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year Award, became the focus of social media conversations following the short video of the encounter.
In the footage, the presenter, who seemed somewhat inexperienced, approached Omotola during a live segment and asked her to introduce herself, saying, “Alright, welcome to 2026 Miss Nigeria dinner. I am currently live with…?”
The question seemed to catch the actress off guard. Pausing briefly, she responded, “You are here with who? I should tell you my name? You are not ready.”
The presenter tried to explain that he already knew her identity and only wanted viewers to be formally introduced to her. “I know you, Omotola Jalade, I just want fans to know who I am with,” he said.
Omotola, however, was unyielding. “Why should I let fans know me? I am tired,” she replied, before making to walk away.
The presenter reportedly attempted to continue the interview, but the interaction remained brief and tense.
The clip has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online, with some applauding the actress for her frankness, while others pointed out the presenter’s lack of preparation.
