The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the deployment of newly promoted senior officers to various commands and departments across the Nigeria Police Force.
The affected officers were recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and Commissioner of Police (CP).
Among the changes, Moshood Jimoh, who previously served as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, has been appointed as the AIG in charge of Zone 2, Lagos. He will be replaced by Olatunji Fatai, who assumes duty as the new Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
Several other AIGs were also assigned to key departments at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. Ado Emmanuel was posted to the Department of Research and Planning, Joseph Eribo to the Department of Armament, and Miller Dantawaye to the Department of Operations. Henry Ifeanyi Uche will oversee Training and Development.
Additional postings include Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo to Police Accounts and Budget, Dahiru Mohammed to Zone 15 in Maiduguri, Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4 in Makurdi, and Bello Shehu to Zone 14 in Katsina. Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba was assigned to the Department of Legal Services at the Force Headquarters, while Ahmed Musa will oversee Community Policing.
Other appointments include Simeon Akpanudom to the FCID Annex in Lagos and Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters.
The police leadership also announced the deployment of several Commissioners of Police to state commands and specialised units.
Haruna Yahaya was posted to the Jigawa State Command, Olugbenga Abimbola to Oyo State Command, Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command, Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State Command, Michael Falade to Ekiti State Command, and Yakubu Dankaro to Adamawa State Command.
In addition, Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed was assigned to the Federal Capital Territory Command, while other officers were deployed to specialised units such as the Special Fraud Unit, INTERPOL offices, Police College Ikeja, and the Force Criminal Investigation Department.
The postings are part of efforts by the police leadership to strengthen operations, improve administration, and enhance security across the country.
