The General Overseer of Believers’ LoveWorld, also known as Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has expressed support for Israel and the United States in their ongoing confrontation with Iran, describing opposition to Israel as rooted in malice.
In a sermon shared widely on social media, Pastor Oyakhilome argued that Israel has long faced existential threats from Iran, which he said has repeatedly issued declarations aimed at the destruction of the Jewish state.
“If you had Iran declaring ‘you have no right to exist’ and you’re a small country like Israel, then there is the war over Iran. It’s important to also look at the actual cause of the war,” he said.
Oyakhilome contended that critics who blame Israel for involving the United States in the conflict fail to appreciate the historical and ongoing threats faced by the country.
He stressed that Israel’s actions are driven by the need to protect its existence in a region where multiple nations have expressed hostility.
“No nation has been so threatened like Israel has, and the land space they occupy is so small.
“If the other nations are so interested in the Palestinian people, why don’t they give them a place to stay?” he questioned, adding that attempts to annihilate Israel over the years demonstrate the severity of its predicament.
The pastor further condemned personal animosity toward Israel, describing such hatred as “satanic” and urging people to recognise Israel’s right to survive and defend itself.
He also highlighted biblical teachings, noting that Scripture foretells Israel’s endurance despite adversaries.
“The Bible cannot lie. At the end of all the nations, Israel continues to exist. Debate all you want, it’s in the Bible that Israel will see the end of all its enemies,” Oyakhilome said, insisting that divine plans outweigh human reasoning.
He concluded by encouraging humility and adherence to God’s wisdom, using the example of Jesus’ Jewish heritage as part of a divine plan that humans are not meant to question.
