Bola Tinubu highlights security gains, urges unity in Easter message

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain united and resilient as the country continues to face economic and security challenges.

In his Easter message on Friday, the President said his administration’s policies and reforms are beginning to yield positive results, expressing optimism that the country is on the right path.

Tinubu highlighted the significance of Easter, noting that the season reflects sacrifice, hope, and the triumph of light over darkness. He said the message is particularly relevant as Nigeria navigates a difficult period marked by economic strain and security concerns.

He commended the efforts and sacrifices of the armed forces and security agencies, stating that his government is providing them with the necessary support while also strengthening international partnerships to improve security operations.

The President referenced his recent visit to Jos, where he met with leaders and residents following recent attacks, assuring them of the government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability.

According to him, no nation can thrive in an atmosphere of fear, urging citizens to support lawful efforts aimed at tackling insecurity and to reject actions that threaten national unity.

Tinubu also defended his administration’s economic reforms, describing them as necessary steps toward achieving long-term prosperity for Nigerians.

He further urged political actors to adhere to the provisions of the Electoral Act as the country approaches another election cycle, emphasising that democracy can only thrive through responsibility, restraint, and active citizen participation.

The President expressed confidence that a better future lies ahead, assuring Nigerians that his administration remains committed to improving the nation’s overall well-being.
