Okpebholo commends Edo Assembly for support, unity

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has lauded members of the State House of Assembly for their cooperation and cordial working relationship with the executive arm of government.

The governor gave the commendation following an Easter visit by the Speaker of the Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, alongside other lawmakers, to his residence in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele, Okpebholo expressed appreciation for the legislature’s role in fostering stability and supporting the administration’s programmes.

He credited the progress recorded by his government, including infrastructure development such as the construction of the state’s first flyover, to the synergy between the executive and legislative arms.

According to him, the peaceful atmosphere created by the Assembly since he assumed office in November 2024 has contributed significantly to effective governance and policy implementation.

The governor urged the lawmakers to sustain the spirit of cooperation to ensure continued development in the state.

Speaking earlier, the Speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the administration’s policies and programmes.

He assured the governor of the legislature’s readiness to approve budgets and collaborate with the executive to drive the implementation of the SHINE agenda.

The visit underscored the ongoing collaboration between both arms of government aimed at advancing governance and development in Edo State.
