A violent fallout from a business disagreement has claimed two lives and left three others hospitalised in the Olámbe area of Ogun State, prompting swift police action.
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, over the fatal knife attack.
The command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed on Wednesday that the incident was triggered by tensions arising from a failed business arrangement.
He explained that the suspect allegedly turned violent during a confrontation and attacked individuals who reportedly intervened in an attempt to calm the situation.
The assault occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, when five persons were reportedly stabbed.
Two victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40, were said to have died before receiving medical attention, as doctors later confirmed them dead.
Three others Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25 suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment, with authorities indicating that they are responding to care.
Police said the suspect fled immediately after the incident but was later apprehended by detectives.
The case has since been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further inquiries and prosecution.
Reacting, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, denounced the attack and assured residents that those responsible would be brought to justice.
He also urged the public to stay vigilant and promptly alert security agencies to any suspicious movements or threats.
