Germany rolls out fresh scholarships for African graduates, fixes deadline

The German government has launched a new application cycle for its scholarship programme aimed at graduates and postgraduate students in Sub-Saharan Africa, reinforcing efforts to promote global education and research exchange.

The initiative, administered by the German Academic Exchange Service, was announced on Friday through an official statement on X, inviting qualified candidates to submit their applications ahead of the April 29, 2026 deadline.

Authorities described the scheme as part of Germany’s ongoing commitment to strengthening academic partnerships and equipping emerging professionals across Africa with advanced knowledge and skills.

Interested applicants were directed to consult the official information materials for comprehensive details on eligibility requirements, participating institutions, and application procedures.

They were also cautioned to strictly adhere to all instructions and ensure that their submissions are complete, as incomplete or late applications would not be processed.

The organisers highlighted the competitive nature of the programme, noting that it consistently attracts a high volume of applicants from across the region.

Reiterating its dedication to international academic collaboration, Germany encouraged prospective candidates to commence their application process early to avoid missing the deadline.
