Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State have openly shown strong support for Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada’s ambition to become governor in the 2027 elections.
Supporters, under a group called Wadada Ambassadors, staged a rally in Lafia where they marched to the APC state secretariat and the Government House to demonstrate their backing.
The group said Wadada has the experience, leadership skills, and vision needed to lead the state. They described him as a strong candidate capable of continuing the development projects of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
During the rally, they submitted a letter to APC leaders urging them to consider Wadada as the party’s preferred candidate.
The APC chairman in Nasarawa, Aliyu Bello, received the group and praised them for conducting a peaceful rally without insults. He also emphasized unity within the party ahead of the 2027 elections and said all aspirants should work together for the party’s success.
He added that whoever Governor Sule eventually supports as candidate will be backed by the party.
Overall, the rally showed growing political activity and competition within the APC in Nasarawa ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
