President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said he is not intimidated by opposition figures, describing them as “noise-makers” who do not respect the rule of law.
Tinubu made the remarks during a meeting with leaders of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the State House in Abuja, a group led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
The president said his political journey, including the primaries and the 2023 general election, had prepared him for the challenges of governance.
“They want to scare me off? It is a lie. I have been through this path before,” Tinubu said, adding that he remains committed to addressing the country’s challenges.
He stressed that his administration would not be distracted by opposition criticism and urged Nigerians to focus on national development, unity, and democratic values.
Tinubu also emphasised the importance of respecting the judiciary and the rule of law, noting that all arms of government must operate within the framework of the constitution.
The president further called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united in pursuing what he described as a collective vision for progress and prosperity.
In a veiled criticism of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu questioned the outcomes of past privatisation exercises carried out under his leadership, particularly in the steel sector.
He reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on campaign promises, stating that his administration remains focused on tackling poverty, strengthening democracy, and driving national development.
