Dangiwa thanks Tinubu, FEC colleagues after cabinet exit

The immediate past Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in the Federal Executive Council and contribute to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Dangiwa’s reaction followed his removal from office in the recent cabinet reshuffle, which also affected the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun.

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe, on Wednesday, the former minister described his time in office as both a privilege and a call to national service.

He said he was honoured to have led reforms in the housing and urban development sector, noting that the experience was fulfilling.

Dangiwa also appreciated members of the Federal Executive Council, government officials, heads of housing agencies, development partners, and staff of the ministry for their support during his tenure.

“I sincerely thank the President for the confidence reposed in me to serve as Minister of Housing and Urban Development. It was a privilege to contribute to policies aimed at improving access to affordable housing for Nigerians,” he said.

He noted that under the current administration, the ministry recorded progress in repositioning the housing sector as a driver of economic growth, employment, and social inclusion.

The former minister assured that he would comply fully with the directive to conclude handover processes, adding that the transition would be orderly.

He reaffirmed his support for the administration’s policy direction and expressed confidence that his successor would sustain and build on ongoing reforms.

Dangiwa highlighted some achievements during his tenure, including the implementation of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme, expansion of public-private partnerships, and reforms in land administration and housing finance.

He pledged continued commitment to national development and support for initiatives aimed at improving housing, infrastructure, and economic growth in the country.
