The Nigerian Army has confirmed the killing of two suspected terrorists during an ambush operation in Kaduna State, with arms and other items recovered from the scene.
According to an operational report obtained on Wednesday, the incident occurred on Tuesday in the Doruwa Babuje axis following intelligence on the movement of armed criminals in the area.
The report indicated that the suspects were linked to attacks on residents, including incidents of robbery and sexual violence.
It stated that troops strategically positioned themselves in the Marit general area, where they laid an ambush and engaged the suspects as they approached.
“Troops successfully neutralised two of the armed bandits, while others fled the scene,” the report noted.
Items recovered from the suspects include a locally fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a cutlass, a jack knife, and a mobile phone.

The report further disclosed that troops have sustained their presence in the Marit and Lajam communities, with ongoing patrols aimed at tracking and apprehending the fleeing suspects.
The operation, it added, forms part of ongoing military efforts to combat criminal activities and strengthen security in the state.
