Trump says Iran’s seizure of ships not breach of ceasefire – White House

The White House has said United States President Donald Trump does not consider Iran’s seizure of two container ships a violation of the ongoing ceasefire, noting that the vessels were neither American nor Israeli.

White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, made this known on Wednesday during an interview with Fox News.

Responding to a question on whether the development breached the ceasefire that halted US-Israeli operations against Iran, Leavitt said the President did not view it as a violation.

According to her, the ships involved were international vessels and not linked to the United States or Israel.

“No, because these were not US ships, these were not Israeli ships. These were two international vessels,” she said.
