A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Sheni Ibiwoye (SAN), has outlined his policy direction ahead of the 2027 elections, with emphasis on security, economic growth and social welfare.
Ibiwoye disclosed this on Thursday while presenting his letter of intent to the State Working Committee of the party in Ilorin, stating that his agenda is anchored on a “People First” approach to governance.
The aspirant said his administration, if elected, would adopt a community-based security framework driven by collaboration among local stakeholders and supported by modern technology.
On the economy, he pledged to reposition the state as a hub for agriculture and agro-processing, with initiatives aimed at improving productivity and strengthening value chains.
He also proposed measures to address unemployment, including the establishment of skills acquisition centres, support for small and medium-scale enterprises, and partnerships with the private sector.
In the education sector, Ibiwoye said his plans include the upgrade of public schools, capacity building for teachers and the integration of technology into the learning process.
He further outlined strategies for social welfare, stressing the need for inclusive policies that cater to vulnerable groups and enhance service delivery.
The aspirant also emphasised the importance of balanced development, noting that his agenda includes infrastructure expansion, rural development programmes and improved access to essential services.
According to him, the proposed initiatives are designed to drive sustainable growth and raise the standard of living across the state.
