The senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has urged leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State to reconcile with aggrieved members and welcome back defectors willing to return to the party.
She made the appeal on Saturday during the PDP State Executive Committee meeting in Lokoja, emphasising the need for unity as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed that rebuilding internal cohesion and fostering inclusiveness would strengthen the party’s chances at the polls.
“I appeal to our party leaders to reopen the doors to those who wish to return. Our strength lies in our unity, and this is the time to bring everyone together,” she said.
The lawmaker also encouraged members to actively participate in the ongoing membership e-registration exercise, describing it as a critical step toward repositioning the party.
According to her, the exercise would serve as a foundation for strengthening the PDP’s structure and expanding its support base across the state.
She further called on party faithful to begin early preparations for the next electoral cycle, noting that success would depend on organisation, commitment, and collective resolve.
“Victory is not accidental. It is built on preparation, unity, and determination,” she added.
Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to the growth of the party in the state, highlighting the importance of grassroots mobilisation, youth engagement, and increased participation of women in politics.
