2027: Borno South APC Leaders Back Ndume’s Return, Raise ₦40m for Nomination Form

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the nine local government areas of Borno South have endorsed Senator Ali Ndume for another term in the National Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party leaders also raised more than ₦40 million to purchase the senator’s nomination form, showing strong support for his return.

The endorsement was made during a meeting held in Maiduguri on Sunday, where a delegation led by senior party chieftain Adamu Yamta visited the Borno State APC Chairman, Bello Ayuba, to formally present their decision.

Speaking during the gathering, Yamta praised Governor Babagana Zulum for what he described as selfless leadership, inclusive governance, and developmental efforts across the state.

Reacting, Ayuba expressed surprise at the large turnout and the calibre of party leaders present from across Borno South.

He said the massive support demonstrated that Senator Ndume remained widely accepted by the people and the party.

Other speakers at the meeting, including Abdullahi Danjato and Musa Dogo, said the endorsement was unanimous, noting that Ndume had consistently proven himself as a capable lawmaker.

Those in attendance included the APC Borno South zonal leadership, state party executives, all nine local government chairmen from the district, youth leaders, and members of the business community.

The move signals early political mobilisation in Borno South as preparations begin for the 2027 elections.
