The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, on Monday expressed confidence in the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, ahead of the June 20 governorship poll.
Yilwatda spoke in Ado Ekiti during the official flag-off of the party’s governorship campaign for Oyebanji’s second term bid, declaring that the party was well-positioned to secure victory across the state.
He said the APC would win decisively from ward to ward, village to village and across all local government areas.
Oyebanji, alongside his deputy, Monisade Afuye, is seeking re-election on the platform of the APC.
The campaign rally attracted several prominent figures within the party, including governors such as Hope Uzodinma, Uba Sani, Monday Okpebholo, Sheriff Oborevwori, Usman Ododo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Mohammed Bago.
Also present were former Ekiti State governors, including Niyi Adebayo, Ayodele Fayose, Segun Oni, and Kayode Fayemi.
Speaking at the event, Uba Sani, who chairs the APC governorship campaign council in the state, described Oyebanji as a high-performing governor and urged voters to support continuity.
Similarly, the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, said the presence of party leaders underscored their collective support, adding that backing Oyebanji aligned with support for President Bola Tinubu.
In his remarks, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, who heads the local campaign organisation, said the governor had fostered unity in the state and would run an issue-driven campaign.
Responding, Oyebanji pledged to consolidate on the achievements of his administration, attributing his government’s progress to the support received from the President and the people of the state.
