German automobile manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz, has reportedly lodged a complaint with Italian authorities against Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, over an alleged unpaid vehicle lease.
According to reports, the company petitioned the Carabinieri, claiming the forward failed to complete payment for a car he leased in 2023 and has yet to return the vehicle.
Osimhen, who currently plays for Galatasaray, is said to have accumulated a debt of about €90,000, estimated at approximately ₦142m.
The development comes despite the striker’s lucrative earnings, reportedly exceeding €20m annually following his move to the Turkish side.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a successful spell with Napoli, where he led the club to its first Serie A title in nearly 40 years, cementing his status as a fan favourite.
He has also maintained a reputation for philanthropy, frequently supporting fans and communities, including recently sponsoring Nigerian supporters to Istanbul for a derby clash against Fenerbahçe, where he scored in a 3-0 win.
However, the latest report has raised questions, as the alleged debt is considered modest relative to his earnings and lifestyle, which includes a fleet of luxury vehicles.
As of the time of filing this report, Osimhen’s representatives have yet to respond to the allegation.
