Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, Member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, on Tuesday, 28th April 2026, formally obtained his nomination/return ticket forms at the APC National Headquarters, Abuja, according to a report by Fessy West Media, anchored by Hon. Kelvin Babalola.
The statement framed the move as a deliberate strategy ahead of the race. It said Akingbaso’s action reflects “strategic foresight rather than political theatrics”, adding that: “By being among the first to declare, he has demonstrated strategic foresight rather than political theatrics. He is a deliberate planner, precise in execution.”
Addressing political opponents, the report noted: “To his political opponents, his record speaks loudly. The race is open, but the track is built for tested and experienced contenders.” It further stated: “As the saying goes, still waters run deep.”
On supporters and those with differing views, the statement read: “To supporters who believe in his competence and track record, you remain the driving force behind his service.” It also added: “To those with differing views, we acknowledge and respect your position.” The report concluded that “current indicators point to him as the most acceptable and prepared candidate.”
The statement emphasized unity in the constituency, describing it as “rich in diversity — a blend of clans, communities, and settlements. Yet we are united by a shared goal: development.” It added that “a ranking legislator commands greater influence to attract federal projects and opportunities.”
The report urged stakeholders to remain calm, citing the role of the electorate: “As the process unfolds, we remain guided by the Electoral Act 2026, which vests ultimate power in the people. The people will decide.” It called for decorum as events unfold, stating: “We urge all stakeholders to maintain peace and decorum throughout this period.”
Fessy West Media signed the message on 29th April 2026, with blessings for Idanre/Ifedore, Ondo State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
