There was jubilation at the Supreme Court complex in Abuja on Thursday following the ruling affirming the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress.
Supporters of the faction thronged the court premises, celebrating the verdict shortly after it was delivered.
In videos circulating online, party loyalists were seen chanting the party’s name and slogan, expressing excitement over the outcome of the judgment.
The apex court had earlier set aside a “status quo ante bellum” order issued during the protracted leadership dispute within the party, ruling that such a directive could not subsist after the conclusion of proceedings.
The judgment effectively recognises the leadership of the party under Mark, bringing a significant development to the internal crisis that has rocked the ADC.
