President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda as part of efforts to deepen diplomatic and economic engagements.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency said the trip would commence with a stop in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.
Tinubu is scheduled to participate in the Africa-France Summit in Nairobi, slated for May 11 and 12, where discussions will centre on energy transition, digital innovation and climate action.
The summit is expected to be co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto.
According to the statement, the President’s participation will reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening ties with African countries and France, particularly in areas of economic cooperation and development.
Following the Kenya engagement, Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.
The forum, organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation, is expected to convene business leaders, investors and policymakers to deliberate on strategies for economic growth and investment opportunities across the continent.
“At both summits, the President will present his administration’s reform agenda aimed at positioning Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment and sustainable growth,” the statement noted.
It added that Tinubu would also hold bilateral meetings with global and African business leaders during the trip.
The President will be accompanied by senior government officials, including ministers and aides, and is expected to return to the country after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
