The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has selected Jamilu Gwamna as its consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.
The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting led by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, where party leaders and aspirants agreed on consensus candidates across multiple positions, including senatorial, house of representatives, and state assembly seats.
Gwamna emerged ahead of Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy. Party officials said the move followed extensive consultations aimed at strengthening unity and reducing internal conflicts within the party.
According to the APC, the adoption of consensus candidates is part of a broader strategy to present a united front and improve its chances in the 2027 general elections.
The party also announced candidates for other positions, stressing that the process reflects efforts to maintain cohesion, stability, and electoral success in the state.
