The Delta State chapter of the City Boy Movement has vowed to deliver 2.7 million votes to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in upcoming elections, as part of a broader nationwide target of 10 million votes in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The pledge was announced during the inauguration of the group’s state executive and the unveiling of its secretariat in Asaba.
Newly appointed leaders include Karo Goru as State Director, Alex Omaghomi as Deputy Director, Innocent Esewezie as State Coordinator, Shedrach Agediga as Deputy Coordinator, Michael Anoka as State Leader, and Ugagaoghene Ogheneyole as State Secretary.
Representing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, described the movement as a fast-growing political force with strong grassroots presence. He urged members to intensify mobilisation efforts and help communicate government policies to the public.
He noted that reforms such as fuel subsidy removal, tax policies, and youth-focused programmes require better public understanding, adding that groups like the City Boy Movement play a key role in bridging that gap.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, encouraged youths to actively participate in governance, describing current economic reforms as challenging but necessary for long-term progress.
National Director-General of the movement, Francis Shoga, emphasised discipline and structure, urging the new leadership to build strong grassroots networks across all local government areas ahead of the elections.
The event drew a large turnout of youths and political stakeholders, marking a significant expansion of the group’s activities in Delta State.
