Wike Threatens to Seal Buildings, Banks Linked to Turaki-Led PDP Faction

Nyesom Wike, minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has warned that any building or bank associated with the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Turaki will be sealed.

The development follows the appointment of Turaki as chairman of an interim national working committee (NWC) backed by Seyi Makinde during a recent party meeting in Abuja.

Turaki had also declared that he assumed leadership of the party after a Supreme Court ruling invalidated the PDP’s 2025 national convention.

Speaking during his monthly media chat, Wike questioned the legitimacy of the faction, accusing it of attempting to mislead Nigerians despite court rulings.

He challenged the group to prove its authenticity by opening an official party bank account and inviting members to pay nomination fees into it.

Wike further warned that any attempt to establish a parallel PDP secretariat or operate bank accounts in the party’s name without recognised authority would attract strict action.

According to him, any such move would be illegal and could threaten peace in the FCT.
The minister stated clearly that:
1.Any building used as a headquarters by the faction would be sealed
2.Any bank facilitating its financial activities would face consequences
Wike emphasized that only the legally recognised leadership of the party has the authority to operate official structures and accounts.
