Former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has intensified his campaign for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election by meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) ward executives across all 33 local government areas of the state.
Speaking at a gathering in Ibadan, Adelabu said grassroots structures remain the backbone of any successful political movement, stressing that ward leaders play a central role in mobilising support and shaping electoral outcomes.
He noted that rebuilding and strengthening the APC from the grassroots level is essential for the party to regain power in 2027, describing local executives as “the closest link between the party and the people.”
The former minister, who recently stepped down from his federal appointment to pursue his governorship ambition, reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and formally restated his intention to contest the party’s ticket.
Adelabu also urged unity among party members, warning that internal divisions could weaken the party’s chances in the next general election. He promised inclusive governance and regular engagement with party structures if elected governor.
He assured party leaders of his commitment to their welfare and involvement in decision-making, while appealing for their full support ahead of the primaries and the 2027 elections.
