Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has officially left the APC for the ADC.
The Kaduna North lawmaker announced his resignation from the ruling party on Thursday through a statement shared on his X account.
According to him, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, formally announced his resignation letter and defection during plenary.
“I am now a member of the ADC, and I will be seeking re-election to continue representing the good people of Kaduna North Federal Constituency on this platform,” he said.
El-Rufai revealed that two other lawmakers — Suleiman Richifa and Umar Ajilo — also joined the ADC alongside him.
He described the move as a difficult but principled decision, saying it was driven by courage, conviction, and a desire to provide better representation for his constituents.
“Our work continues, and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation,” he stated.
The lawmaker also announced plans to launch a Primary Health Care initiative in Kaduna North, beginning with health centres in Unguwar Sarki and Badarawa/Malali wards. According to him, the programme will supply essential medical items, including syringes and other healthcare materials.
