The Ogun State chapter of the Accord Party has dismissed speculations that it plans to enter into any political alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The state chairman of the party, Hon. Rotimi Oke, stated this during an interview in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, where he firmly ruled out any possibility of collaboration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or opposition coalitions such as the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to him, the party remains independent and committed to building its own structure rather than merging or aligning with other political groups.
“Accord remains Accord. We don’t belong to any other political party and we are not in alliance with any party,” Oke said.
He added that the party would soon unveil its plans and strategic direction ahead of the elections, assuring members that preparations were already underway to strengthen the party’s presence in the state.
Oke also used the opportunity to criticize the performance of both the federal and Ogun State governments led by the APC, accusing them of failing to adequately address economic hardship, inflation, hunger, and insecurity affecting Nigerians.
Despite his criticisms, he expressed confidence that the Accord Party would emerge stronger and remain a major contender in the 2027 elections in Ogun State.
