Osazee Williams, the International Secretary of the Ecumenical Synods of Bishops, Archbishops, Apostles and Senior Clergy, has dismissed reports of a disagreement with Enoch Adeboye over recent marriage advice given to men.
The clarification followed reactions to Adeboye’s statement advising men not to marry women who cannot cook. Williams had earlier shared a different perspective, leading to speculation of a rift between both clerics.
Speaking on the controversy, the bishop said his comments were misunderstood and were never meant to oppose Adeboye. According to him, the RCCG General Overseer may have spoken from deeper spiritual insight.
Williams explained that his intention was to encourage responsible leadership among men and provide broader Christian understanding on the issue.
“There was no disagreement whatsoever. What I said was not in opposition to Daddy G.O, but to expand understanding,” he said.
He also urged Christians and the public not to create unnecessary divisions among church leaders, stressing that religious teachings should be interpreted with wisdom and balance.
