Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri Back Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid Over Power Rotation

Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and political commentator Reno Omokri have declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a joint statement released on Saturday, both men said Nigeria’s informal power-sharing arrangement between the North and South has helped maintain political stability since 1999.

According to them, the North already completed its eight-year turn under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023, making it the South’s turn to retain power for two terms.

They argued that any move to return power to the North after Tinubu’s first term would disrupt national balance and unity.

Fani-Kayode and Omokri also praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, claiming his administration had recorded multiple GDP growth cycles, trade surpluses, and significant expansion of Nigeria’s economy.

The duo called on Nigerians across religious and regional lines to support Tinubu’s re-election bid and his “Renewed Hope Agenda,” expressing confidence that Nigeria could become a $1 trillion economy by 2031 under his leadership.

The statement comes amid growing political alignments and early endorsements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
