The All Progressives Grand Alliance has announced the timetable for the screening of aspirants seeking the party’s tickets for the Senate, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly elections ahead of its 2026 primaries.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, in Awka, Anambra State.
According to the statement, the screening exercise for aspirants contesting Senate and House of Representatives seats will hold on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
APGA added that aspirants seeking nomination for the Anambra State House of Assembly would be screened on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the party’s regional office in Awka.
The party stated that all screening exercises would commence by 10am.
“This is to notify all APGA aspirants from Anambra State seeking nomination for national and state Assembly positions in the 2026 primary elections that the screening exercise shall hold as scheduled,” the statement read in part.
The party advised aspirants to strictly comply with the timetable and guidelines issued for the exercise.
It also warned supporters, aides and associates against crowding the screening venues, stressing that only members of the screening committee and cleared aspirants would be granted access.
“Only members of the screening committee and duly cleared aspirants shall be granted access to the screening venues. All other persons, including supporters, aides and associates, are advised to stay away to ensure orderliness,” the statement added.
APGA further directed aspirants to appear in person with the original copies of their highest academic qualifications for verification, noting that photocopies would not be accepted.
The party also clarified that the screening exercise was free of charge and cautioned aspirants against making payments to any individual or committee under any guise.
“No aspirant is required to pay any amount of money for the screening exercise. Any demand for payment should be reported immediately to the National Secretariat,” Opara said.
The party noted that screening schedules for aspirants from states outside Anambra would be announced later through its official communication channels.
