President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Africa-France Summit scheduled to commence on Monday.
The presidential aircraft conveying Tinubu touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after midnight on Monday, according to a statement released by the State House media office.
The Kenya visit marks the second leg of the President’s ongoing three-nation diplomatic tour, which began in France where he met with international investors and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic reforms and fiscal discipline.
The Africa-France Summit, jointly hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, is expected to hold from May 11 to May 12.
Organisers said the summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on issues including energy transition, digital innovation, green industrialisation, climate action and reforms in global financing systems.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation at the gathering reflects Nigeria’s commitment to deepening strategic partnerships with African countries and France in key sectors of development and investment.
According to the statement, the President is expected to deliver an address outlining ongoing economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a major investment destination on the continent.
Tinubu is also billed to hold bilateral meetings with African leaders and global business executives on the sidelines of the summit.
Following the Nairobi meeting, the Nigerian leader is expected to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the 2026 Africa CEO Forum scheduled for May 14 to 15.
He is expected back in Nigeria after the Rwanda engagement, ahead of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary slated for May 23.
