The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) witnessed renewed political activity on Monday as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Plateau State governorship aspirant, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, officially submitted their nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, submitted her forms in preparation for the 2027 elections, reaffirming her commitment to continued representation and grassroots engagement. The event drew supporters, party members, and political associates to the PDP headquarters at Wadata Plaza.
After submitting her nomination documents, the senator expressed gratitude to her constituents and party leaders for their support. She said her political journey was focused on sustaining effective representation, empowering young people and women, and ensuring that democratic benefits reach local communities.
She emphasized her priorities, including improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities within her district. According to her, her vision is centered on inclusiveness, progress, and community development.
Supporters at the venue described her as a dedicated and accessible leader whose projects and advocacy efforts have strengthened her connection with constituents. A PDP official noted that her leadership style has encouraged greater participation of women and youths in politics.
Meanwhile, Chief Ropshik also formally declared his intention to contest the Plateau State governorship under the PDP by submitting his nomination forms at the same secretariat. He arrived with members of his campaign team, supporters, and political allies.
During his visit, he held consultations with the PDP National Chairman, where discussions reportedly focused on party unity, inclusive governance, and development priorities in Plateau State.
Addressing journalists after the submission, Ropshik stated that his ambition is motivated by service, experience, and a commitment to responsible leadership. He explained that public office should be guided by competence and proven character.
He described his campaign as a people-focused movement aimed at promoting opportunities, enterprise, and inclusive growth across Plateau State. According to him, his goal is to build a state where citizens can thrive through development-driven policies.
Political observers within the PDP say the submissions reflect growing momentum within the party ahead of its primaries, with supporters expressing optimism about the prospects of both aspirants.
