Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed reports claiming that he defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
The governor clarified his political stance while speaking with journalists on Wednesday, insisting that he remains a member of the APC.
Fubara urged the public to ignore speculations circulating on social media regarding his alleged exit from the ruling party.
According to him, various interpretations and narratives being pushed online do not reflect his true position.
“I know that there has been a lot of drama in the media from one story to another. People should stop using whatever situation they pick from social media or their own interpretation of events to present me wrongly,” he said.
The governor stressed that he had not abandoned the party and remained committed to its interests.
“I have not gone anywhere. I’m still a member of the Congress, and I remain a member,” Fubara stated.
He further noted that the unity and progress of the party should remain the priority for members, regardless of ongoing political developments.
“Whatever happens, what is most important is supporting the overwhelming interest of the party,” the governor added.
