Kogi East Youth Stakeholders have cautioned Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State against supporting any alleged “third-term agenda” being linked to Senator Jibrin Isah.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Anyigba, the group’s president, Ahmed Labaran, said politicians who are disconnected from grassroots realities should not be imposed on the people. He stressed that recycling unpopular leaders could weaken the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the region.
The youths urged the governor to allow a transparent and credible primary election process, insisting that only committed party members with strong grassroots support should be allowed to contest and emerge as candidates.
Another speaker, Okeme Muhammad of the FAWWAS FOR MEN Organization, backed the call, saying leadership should go to loyal and dedicated party members who understand the needs and aspirations of the people.
The group warned that imposing unpopular candidates or undermining internal democracy could hurt the APC’s chances in future elections in Kogi East.
