President Bola Tinubu has invited Guinea’s President, Gen. Mamadi Doumbouya, for an official state visit to Nigeria following a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda.
The development was disclosed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Sunday Dare, after both leaders met to discuss economic cooperation and regional partnerships.
According to Dare, the talks focused largely on Guinea’s rich mineral and metals sector, with both countries exploring opportunities for stronger collaboration in mining, natural resources, and investment.
He said the meeting opened a fresh chapter in relations between Nigeria and Guinea, adding that President Tinubu personally invited Doumbouya to visit Nigeria in the near future.
“The President had a fruitful meeting with the Guinean leader and discussions centred on areas of mutual economic interest. Guinea has enormous mineral potential and there are strong opportunities for partnership between both countries,” Dare stated.
Doumbouya, who recently won Guinea’s presidential election with 86.2 per cent of the vote, is currently overseeing the country’s transition process toward civilian democratic governance.
The Africa CEO Forum, currently taking place in Kigali, has gathered over 2,500 business leaders, investors, policymakers and executives across the continent to discuss economic growth, investment and regional cooperation in Africa.
