Senator representing Borno Central, Kaka Shehu Lawan, has distributed ₦135.65 million to executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across his constituency ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to a statement issued by his legislative aide, Usman Alkali, the cash support was shared on Thursday to assist party executives in preparing for the Sallah festivities.
Alkali described the gesture as part of the senator’s continued support for party loyalists, noting that it is the third time Kaka Shehu Lawan has made such a donation since joining the National Assembly.
He added that the intervention was meant to appreciate APC executives for their commitment to strengthening democracy and sustaining party activities within the constituency.
Meanwhile, the senator recently stepped down from the Borno governorship race and endorsed Mustapha Gubio, who is reportedly backed by Babagana Zulum. According to Alkali, the decision followed consultations among party stakeholders in Abuja, with Lawan retaining his Senate seat.
