ADC Postpones Presidential, Governorship Screening Exercises to May 18

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has postponed its presidential and governorship screening exercises to Monday, May 18, 2026.

The party disclosed this in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who explained that the screenings earlier scheduled for the weekend were rescheduled due to security concerns in some northern states.

According to the statement, screening exercises for National Assembly aspirants from parts of northern Nigeria will now be conducted in Abuja.

The ADC assured affected aspirants that they would be contacted with updated schedules and necessary details regarding the exercise.

“We regret any inconvenience this adjustment may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all aspirants and stakeholders,” the statement read.

The development comes as political parties intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections across the country.
