Former President Goodluck Jonathan has been exempted from the screening process ahead of the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party faction led by Kabiru Turaki.
The announcement was made in Abuja by former Niger State governor Babangida Aliyu, who is a member of the party’s screening committee.
According to the committee, Jonathan will not undergo the normal screening exercise usually required for presidential aspirants before the PDP primary election.
The development comes amid growing political discussions over Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race ahead of the 2027 elections. Further details from the party are still expected.
