The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun West Senatorial District has elected Jimoh Ojugbele as its senatorial candidate for the 2027 general election.
Ojugbele, a former three-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, defeated three other aspirants in the primary election with 85,552 votes out of 86,811 accredited voters.
Speaking after the victory, Ojugbele praised the peaceful conduct of the exercise and described the primary as free, fair, and crisis-free across the district. He also pledged to build on the achievements of the incumbent senator, Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, whom he described as “a grand master of projects.”
Ojugbele, popularly known in his constituency as “Mr Projects,” highlighted his experience in constituency development during his years in the National Assembly and assured party supporters that he would further improve representation in Ogun West if elected in 2027.
The result was announced by the Ogun West Returning Officer, Dr. Dapo Odukoya.
The development adds to the growing political activities ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections, especially within the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ogun State.
