Kwankwaso Eyes NDC VP Ticket, Says Move Could Help Kano Produce President in Future

Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed confidence that he will secure the vice-presidential ticket of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso said that if he clinches the position, it could pave the way for Kano State to eventually produce a President of Nigeria in the future.

He stated that the 2027 elections would be “different from previous polls” if he appears on the ballot, adding that he believes strongly in his chances within the party.

His comments come amid reports of ongoing political realignments within the opposition, including speculation that Peter Obi may emerge as a leading presidential contender within the NDC.

Kwankwaso remains one of the most influential politicians in northern Nigeria, with a strong grassroots support base across Kano and beyond.
