Rivers mother demands justice after driver kills three children

A grieving mother, Amarachi Promise Esomonu, has called for justice after losing her three children in a tragic accident in the Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The incident reportedly occurred on May 15 when a woman, said to be learning how to drive under the supervision of a male companion, allegedly lost control of a vehicle and crashed into the family’s residence.

The crash claimed the lives of the woman’s three children, aged 10, four and three, who were said to be inside the house at the time of the incident.

A resident of the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the development as heartbreaking, saying neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing loud screams and cries.

According to the source, the vehicle rammed into the building while the learner-driver was being coached by her boyfriend, leaving the children fatally injured.

In a viral video circulating online, the devastated mother was seen weeping uncontrollably as she appealed to authorities to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“Every morning my alarm still rings for me to prepare them for school, but my children are no longer there,” she lamented.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, had ordered a thorough investigation into the tragedy and assured the family that justice would be served.
