Former President Goodluck Jonathan has warned Nigerians about a fake Instagram account impersonating him online.
In a statement released by his media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, Jonathan said he does not own or operate any Instagram account and urged the public to disregard the handle @goodluck_ebelejonathan.
According to the statement, the account has repeatedly changed its username and sometimes presents itself as a fan page while at other times impersonating the former president. The office said the account is misleading the public and called on Meta to take action against it.
The former president’s team advised Nigerians to be cautious of any messages, posts, or engagements coming from the account, stressing that any Instagram profile claiming to represent Jonathan is fake.
