Israel has claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed during airstrikes carried out on Saturday, according to two Israeli sources familiar with the development.
The sources, quoted by international media, disclosed that Israeli authorities had allegedly obtained photographic evidence showing Khamenei’s body, while preparations were said to be underway for an official announcement confirming his death.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at the development, stating that there were strong indications the Iranian leader was “no longer with us,” a remark that further fueled speculation over Khamenei’s fate.
However, Iran swiftly dismissed the claims, with a spokesperson for the country’s Foreign Ministry insisting that both the president and the Supreme Leader were “safe and sound.”
Despite Tehran’s denial, Khamenei has not appeared publicly or released any video message since the strikes commenced, raising questions and uncertainty amid escalating tensions between both countries.
