Ondo community protests incessant killings, seeks govt intervention 

Tension gripped Isua-Akoko in Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State following incessant killings bedeviling the agrarian community.

Residents of the local government area who trooped out in their numbers expressed displeasure over spate of abduction in the area.

Speaking on the development, the Youth President of Akoko South East Local Government Area of Ondo State, Hon. Umoru Kamoru said the development has hampered economic growth in the agrarian community.

Kamoru urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to deploy more security operatives to the area, adding that the situation is getting out of hand.

He noted that another person was matecheted today.

Also speaking, the Youth President of Isua Akoko, Mr. Abimbola Oluwafemi, urged government to all levels to come their rescue, adding that another person was killed in Ipe-Akoko.

Abimbola added that the recent killing of a youth leader in the community triggered the protest, adding the youth leader was gruesomely murdered after collecting ransom.
