Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has warned that the ongoing conflict involving the country could have far-reaching consequences for the entire world.
Speaking on Wednesday, Araghchi said the impact of the war would be felt by all, regardless of race, religion, or economic status. He urged Western officials to take a stronger stance against the conflict.
“A wave of global consequences has only commenced and will affect all – irrespective of wealth, religion, or race,” Araghchi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
His post included the resignation letter of Joe Kent, director of the US National Counterterrorism Center, who stepped down on Tuesday. In his letter, Kent said he could not “in good conscience” support the ongoing military action against Iran, arguing that the country posed no immediate threat to the United States.
Araghchi highlighted that a growing number of international voices, including European and US officials, have criticised the war as unjust.
He called on more members of the global community to take similar positions, urging diplomatic and peaceful measures over military action.
The minister’s statement comes amid mounting international concern over escalating tensions in the region and the potential ripple effects on global security and economies.
