A 28-year-old man, Sunday Adebayo, appeared before an Akungba-Akoko Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday over allegations of stealing cocoa beans and yams worth N2 million.
Adebayo was arraigned on a four-count charge before Magistrate K.A. Kolawole, who presided over the case.
The prosecution, led by Inspector Olasunkanmi Boboye, told the court that the incident occurred on March 13, 2025, around 3:00 pm at Okemoro Farm in Supare-Akoko.
The stolen items reportedly belonged to Mr. Ademoyegun Gbenga.
According to the prosecutor, the accused’s actions violated Section 383(1) of the Criminal Code and are punishable under Section 390(9) of the same law, Cap 37 Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
When the charges were read, Adebayo, who appeared without a lawyer, pleaded not guilty to all counts.
After hearing the case, Magistrate Kolawole granted him bail in the sum of N3 million, with one surety.
The court adjourned the matter to a later date for further hearing.
