A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has elected a new set of national working committee (NWC) members at its national convention held in Abuja.
The elective convention took place on Sunday at the velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, where members were returned through a consensus arrangement following the dissolution of the party’s caretaker committee.
The PDP remains divided into factions, with a rival group led by Kabiru Turaki challenging the legality of the convention at the Supreme Court, seeking to restrain the Wike-backed camp from proceeding with the exercise.
Below is the list of the newly elected NWC members:
Abdulrahman Mohammed — National Chairman
Aaron Chukwuemeka — Deputy National Chairman (South)
Yusufu Akirikwen — Deputy National Chairman (North)
Samuel Anyanwu — National Secretary
Kolawale Olabisi — Deputy National Secretary

The development highlights ongoing internal divisions within the PDP as different factions continue to assert control over the party’s structure ahead of future political activities.
